Recovery Care

Facing recovery from surgery can be scary without a support system in place — SarahCare can help.

Recovery care at SarahCare

A bridge between rehab and independence

Facing recovery from surgery can be scary without a support system in place. Patients recovering from orthopedic, cardiac, or other major surgery may need daily assistance due to issues such as:

Living alone or being alone during the day
Being non-weight-bearing
Using a wheelchair, walker, or scooter
Feeling unsteady when moving about the house
Inability to confidently perform activities of daily living such as meal preparation and personal care

Comfort, safety, and daily support

We have roll-in showers, raised toilet seats, and grab bars to make toileting and showering easier and safer than at home. Our direct care staff can provide as much or as little assistance as needed. Our nurses can take daily vitals, administer medications, check incisions, and monitor the patient's overall health.

Staying engaged during recovery

Our day is full of programs and activities that help keep recovering patients from becoming anxious, bored, or depressed during recovery. And there's no need to worry about meal preparation — we provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack to every participant every day.

A bridge to independence

Patients who are just out of rehab can find the care, comfort, and peace of mind they need at SarahCare. We provide a bridge between rehab and regaining independence for patients recovering from such procedures as:

Hip or knee replacement
Foot or ankle surgery
Cardiac surgery
Patients can reserve a spot prior to surgery and start when their physician says they are ready.
