Why we do what we do!
Don attends SarahCare ~ Lakeside, and recently celebrated his wedding anniversary with his wife, Sheila at our center. Sheila took the time to write us a beautiful note about her, and Don’s, experiences at SarahCare. Thank you Sheila ~ This is why we do what we do each and every day!
“I have taken my husband, who has had Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s for 6 years to SarahCare for 2 years. I wish I had found it sooner because it has given me days free to live my life again – lunch dates, errands, appointments, etc. But, more importantly, this is the place I see him safe and happy under the care and attention of the wonderful, fun, and friendly staff, and it provides a great social outlet with so many of his peers. It can get pretty boring for him at home with just me, and I don’t have time to entertain or provide exercise all the time. But here he is kept busy with games, music, crafts, exercise and excellent meals and snacks. The nurse gives him his meds on time daily. When I pick him up at the end of the day he always has a smile on his face. A caregivers support group meets monthly to share problems and suggestions for solutions, helping us feel less isolated and overwhelmed. By the way, my husband is not a veteran but if he were the VA would “pick up the tab” – worth any paperwork required. In short, this place is a Godsend and totally a class act. ” ~ Sheila B.
