Meet Lisa Suarez, Co-Owner & Executive Director of SarahCare of Kingwood & The Woodlands

Lisa Suarez and her business partner have been building something special in the Houston area since 2006. As Co-Owner and Executive Director of SarahCare of Kingwood and SarahCare of The Woodlands since 2006, she has spent those two decades creating a place where seniors find community and a reason to show up every day.

Why SarahCare

When Lisa was exploring franchise opportunities, she wasn't just looking for a business. She was looking for a mission. SarahCare stood out for its track record, its data, and the clarity of its purpose: supporting families and creating work that matters.

"I think it will be a legacy," Lisa says.

That word says a lot about how Lisa approaches this work. Running two centers takes real commitment, and the decision to invest in SarahCare wasn't made lightly. It was made with intention.

What Every Day Looks Like

Walk into SarahCare of Kingwood or The Woodlands on any given day and you'll find daily exercises keeping everyone moving, Bible study bringing the community together, BINGO tournaments full of friendly competition, and "Amazing Grace" drifting through the center, a longtime favorite.

At the center of it all is the center's beloved "mayor," a veteran and former pastor whose energy is impossible to miss. He leads karaoke and dance sessions, rallies everyone for games, plays dominoes, offers prayer before lunch, and leads Bible study.

His presence captures what SarahCare of Kingwood and The Woodlands has built: a place where seniors show up fully and feel at home.

What Keeps Lisa Going

For Lisa, the rewards are concrete. The caregiver who finally exhales when she drops her husband off and knows he is safe. The family that calls to say they don't know what they would have done without this place. The senior who walked in guarded on day one and left with a friend. These are the moments that have kept Lisa going for these 20 years.
"Every participant we serve is a success story," Lisa says. "Hearing families say how much they appreciate us is a success every day."

For Anyone Considering the Work

Lisa doesn't sugarcoat it. "You have to have a passion and heart for it." Caring for seniors and their families takes real dedication — the kind that shows up on hard days and keeps going anyway. But for those who bring that dedication, what gets built over time is something worth everything.

Twenty years in, SarahCare of Kingwood and The Woodlands is still going strong. The mission hasn't changed, and neither has the music.
