Philosophy of Care
Placing the individual first
We call our philosophy of care the SarahCare© Way. While we pride ourselves on the quality of our care, the SarahCare© Way sees beyond your loved one’s needs to understand them as a unique individual. We share in the richness of their personal life and treasure their contribution to the life of our centers.
Because we place the individual first, we go above and beyond to help your loved one live a fuller life. We do not accept your loved one’s challenges as ever being hopeless.
Values that motivate everything we do
The SarahCare© Way is an attitude and philosophy that drives the development of all our programs and the behavior and attitudes of all staff members from the kitchen aide to the CEO.
The company’s founder, Dr. Merle Griff, a gerontologist with over twenty years experience, developed this program of care because she was unsatisfied with the options available for the families she worked with professionally as well as her own mother, who suffered a severe stroke. As an expert in gerontology and as a daughter caring for her mother, she strove to bring both experiences together in the SarahCare© Way.
CARF

Commission of Accreditation on Rehabilitation Services.
SarahCare® follows CARF Standards in all of our centers.
Founded in 1966, CARF is a private, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality services. It does this by establishing standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers. CARF uses the standard to determine how well an organization is serving its consumers and how it can improve.
The CARF standards are developed with input from consumers, rehabilitation professionals, state and national organizations, and funders. Every year the standards are reviewed and new ones are developed to keep pace with changing conditions and current consumer needs.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization. That focuses on ensuring the services provided meets your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes. CARF standards are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available.
