Reasons to Franchise: Why is this a good franchising opportunity?
A Growing Senior Population As the population grays and lives longer, the demand for the senior care has become a priority.
According to the US Census Bureau, the number of older adults will continue to grow faster than any other age segment. As their numbers grow, their families require help caring for their special needs. However, the elderly have resisted entering institutions which means adult day services is poised perfectly to assist the elderly as they continue to live at home.
Why Franchise instead of opening a new business?
Franchising offers an opportunity for those seeking an independent business, but needing assistance in providing services to the elderly that reflects best business practices, maintains high standards of care, and promotes profitability. The franchiser provides an opportunity to develop the enterprise while providing structured guidance and assistance in all aspects of business operation. Rather than facing unforeseen risks associated with starting a new business franchisees receive instruction and training in areas ranging from management to personnel to marketing.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the demographics for an adult day care center?
In order to establish a need for an adult day care center there should be approximately 10,000 older adults that are at least 60 years of age living within a defined driving radius.
2. Will you help me with site selection?
Yes, we will assist you in locating a site for your SarahCare® center(s). We will conduct an in-depth review of all materials included in your Sarah Real Estate Manual during your initial training program. The Sarah Real Estate Program provides you and your commercial real estate broker with specific guidelines for sites within both commercial and residential areas, a listing of FAQ’s usually asked by potential landlords, checklists for evaluating your competition, and a checklist of items to be provided to us by your real estate broker prior to our visit for final site selection.
3. How long does it take from the time of signing to the Grand Opening?
This depends on how quickly you find a site and the leasehold improvements are completed. All other factors such as licensure, funding, and marketing depend on these factors. The average time is 8 to 12 months.
4. What is the franchise fee?
The current franchise fee is $34,900.
5. What is the Royalty fee and what will I receive for this fee?
As a SarahCare® franchisee, your support representative is a member of an interdisciplinary team that consists of a nurse, social service provider, activities specialist, marketing consultant, and an operations director. Any one of these team members is available for a site visit or consultation by telephone. There is never any reason for a SARAH franchisee to be concerned or worried. Assistance is only a 1-800 number away. This is important as adult day services is a multi-faceted business. You will also receive immediate news releases and announcements of pending national legislation and changes in federal regulations. Marketing programs and ideas are sent to you on a regular basis. Web-based training seminars concerning marketing, nursing issues, and activities are planned. Royalty fee is 5% based on monthly gross revenue.
6. What will my SarahCare® Center look like?
We have prototype designs for mixed use centers, private pay SarahCare® Clubs, and Alzheimer’s Centers. Your landlord will be asked to provide us with the exterior dimensions of the space. An initial space plan will be provided to you and the landlord. This “footprint” will save you and your architect time and money in further developing the space plan. This initial space plan is included in your franchise fee. We also have a preferred vendor that has put together a complete package for furnishings and equipment for your new center. Available in two color palettes the furnishings are specifically designed for use in SarahCare® centers.
7. Do I need a health care background to manage the center?
No. Some of our most successful franchisees have business, marketing and/or sales backgrounds. Having a formal healthcare background and/or training is not necessary. Prior franchise experience is helpful.
8. Do I have to be on site to manage the daily operations of my center?
No, we will assist you in hiring an Executive Director who will manage the center. You will be expected to have weekly meetings and unannounced visits to your center to ensure your Executive Director is fulfilling their obligations.
9. How do you differentiate yourself from your competition?
SarahCare® centers look and feel different from the moment you enter the center. Our centers offer warm and home-like environment that are designed to accommodate the varied needs of all of our participants. The SarahCare® philosophy is a method developed over 25 years of experience in operating successful centers. From our proven marketing techniques to our specialized activity programs and offerings, SarahCare® Adult Day Centers offers a unique setting that incorporates the highest standards of care with attention to profitability.
10. Why is a SarahCare® franchise different from other in-home and health related fields?
Your SarahCare® Center will be open Monday through Friday from 7am to 6pm. This, you will not have to worry about staffing or participant problems on the weekends, holidays, or even in the evenings. Don’t worry about possibly missing the big game on Sunday or staff not showing up on Mother’s Day. Better hours also results in easier staff recruitment and less staff turnover.
