Carf

CARF – Commission of Accreditation on Rehabilitation Services.

SarahCare® follows CARF Standards in all of our centers.
Founded in 1966, CARF is a private, not-for-profit organization that promotes quality services. It does this by establishing standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers. CARF uses the standard to determine how well an organization is serving its consumers and how it can improve.
The CARF standards are developed with input from consumers, rehabilitation professionals, state and national organizations, and funders. Every year the standards are reviewed and new ones are developed to keep pace with changing conditions and current consumer needs.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization. That focuses on ensuring the services provided meets your needs for quality and the best possible outcomes. CARF standards are rigorous, so those services that meet them are among the best available

Brain Fitness

Participants at SarahCare® have the opportunity to take part in brain fitness classes. These classes feature the Posit Science Brain Fitness Program—a breakthrough computer-based technology designed by top scientists to improve memory and sharpen thinking, which can help people feel more confident and in control.

What Is the Program?

The program is designed to improve thinking, understanding and memory. It was developed by Posit Science’s global team of university based researchers as part of an ongoing effort to improve brain health as we age. The program includes a series of scientifically based, fun and engaging exercises that you do on a computer in a classroom. These programs exercise your brain, and are designed to speed up brain processing and improve brain function. The exercises are done for an hour a day for up to eight weeks. Why so many weeks? As with physical exercise, it is important to exercise the brain extensively in specific ways in order to see benefits. The program is self-paced and adjusts to each individual’s abilities and needs.
