SarahCare of Coral Springs is looking for Volunteers with bubbly personalities to help with activities Monday-Friday from 2pm-4pm. Looking for help with Arts and Crafts, Discussions, Trivia, Bingo, Singing……..and so on. We also welcome volunteers who play instruments and sing, or have other talents they would like to share with our Seniors.

Sarahcare PenPal program with Sawgrass Middle School

Sarahcare has started a Pen Pal program with Sawgrass Springs Middle School Students. Sarahcare has just received their first batch of 25 letters from the students at Sawgrass Springs Middle. Our Activities Director, Marjory Lifton has been reading out loud a few letters each day to our Senior Participants. The letters talk about the child’s interests, future expectations and their family life. They also ask several questions of the Seniors. They want to know what they used to do for a living, how many children and grandchildren they have, do they like certain sports, do they speak other languages and so on. Our Seniors have really enjoyed listening to these letters. We will be assisting the Seniors to write back to each of the children. Later in the school year we will be scheduling a meet and greet for the Seniors and Children to meet at our Sarahcare Center.

Lions Club partners with SarahCare of Coral Springs

The Coral Springs Downtown Lions Club has designated SarahCare as their official processing and drop off center for used eye glasses. These prescription eyeglasses will eventually be donated free of charge to people in need in countries around the world. Our staff and participants have volunteered their time to help sort and pack donated prescription eyeglasses for this very worthy charitable cause. If you have any eyeglasses or hearing aids that you no longer use, please drop them off at our center for processing.
